BOCCE BALL - we have a 50 foot X 10 foot bocce ball court for your enjoyment. Balls are provided.
THE GAME OF BOCCE BALL - bocce is played with 8 large bocce balls and 1 small target ball called the Pallino. The object of the game is to roll your bocce ball closest to the Pallino. There are 2 or 4 balls per team. You can play with one to 4 persons on each team. Games are usually played to 11 or 21 points.
the match begins by tossing the Pallino (the smallest ball) past the half way point. The Pallino may not hit the back wall. Any bocce ball that hits the back wall without first hitting another bocce ball is out of play. The player who originally tossed the Pallino rolls the first bocce ball. Their ball is now the closest to the Pallino, so the next team rolls their bocce balls until one is closest to the Pallino.
Teams alternate like this until all bocce balls are played. The team with the bocce ball closest to the Pallino makes 1 point for every ball that is closer to the Pallino than their opponent’s ball. Teams then play another “frame” from the opposite end until reaching “game point.”
